Items you should leave behind

ALCOHOL

There are already various shops and bars that sell alcoholic beverages, so it’s a waste of luggage space and will no doubt make your suitcase heavier to carry. If you do bring alcohol that isn’t permitted onboard, it will be confiscated and returned to you at the end of your cruise. To save the hassle, leave your alcohol at home and enjoy the wide selection of drinks available.

KNIVES

Knives should be left in your household kitchen when it comes to packing for your cruise. This is to ensure safety onboard for you and your fellow passengers.

PAINT AND BLEACH

Perhaps you have little ones with you and you want to bring arts and crafts for them to enjoy whilst onboard, but paint is not allowed. Bleach is also banned, because both contain harsh chemicals that could be deemed hazardous to you, your child and those around you.

COFFEE MAKERS

Like many of us, you might crave that delicious cup of coffee every morning to get you through the day, but you don’t need to bring your own in order to get your daily fix. Freshly made coffee can be made available to you whilst onboard the ship.

IRONS

Understandably, you’re going to want to look your best on your cruise ship holiday, and there’s nothing smarter than a clean, pressed shirt. However, bringing your own iron is not is not allowed. Onboard facilities will be available for you to iron your clothes when you need to.

ILLEGAL DRUGS

This pretty much goes without saying, but we thought it was worth a mention. Illegal drugs are prohibited onboard and will be confiscated upon being found.

HOT PLATES

Sit back and relax, you’re on holiday! Cooking in your cabin can be hazardous and unnecessary when there are plenty of restaurants and cafes to choose from onboard. You could even get room service to deliver to your room if you really wanted. The choices are endless!

CERTAIN KINDS OF SPORTS GEAR

This can include anything from baseball/cricket bats, bicycles, skateboards and surfboards. These could be a hazard to other passengers and frankly, they weigh heavy in your luggage. Some of these items may even be available onboard, so make sure you investigate beforehand.

CANDLES AND INCENSE

Whilst you’re at home, it’s a nice idea to have candles lit and incense burning to give your room a lovely aroma, but unfortunately bringing these items on a cruise ship could result in an accident. Keep yourself and others safe by steering clear of these items when it comes to packing your luggage. We all love a pleasant smell but it just isn’t worth the risk.
