Drinks packages tend not to be included in the cost of your holiday unless you are travelling with an all-inclusive premium cruise line or if you have booked with a specific cruise line that has a particular promotion on. Your sales advisor will advise you of this at the time of making your booking.
For cruises where drinks packages aren’t included, you’re often able to find complimentary tea, coffee, juice and water in the buffet restaurants onboard.
You can also purchase drinks packages and pay for them in full prior to travelling, these can represent great value for money than paying for each drink individually whilst onboard. Drinks packages are also available to purchase when you get onboard too.
There are a number of choices in relation to drinks packages from non-alcoholic to premium packages, these all differ depending upon the cruise line you are sailing with.
Below we have listed some links which will take you directly to the relevant information pages with the major cruise lines. These pages will explain in detail the packages available and what is included. In most cases you can also purchase your drinks packages via these links and by logging into your booking. Each cruise line does have their own terms and conditions relating to the drinks packages so please ensure you read these thoroughly before purchasing;

- When you purchase a drinks package, this will also include the gratuities that are usually automatically added to your bill when you opt to ‘pay as you go’ with drinks onboard.
- If you purchase a drinks package and you’re sharing a cabin with another person, they must also purchase the drinks package. (This is to prevent sharing with friends and family who haven’t purchased a beverage package.)
- You may only purchase one drink at a time from the bar when you have a drinks package. (Again, this is to prevent sharing with friends and family who haven’t opted for the package.)
- When it comes to dining, you may not be allowed to sit with those who haven’t purchased a drinks package to prevent sharing.
- Even though your drinks are paid for as part of your package, you will still be required to sign for them. It’s always worth keeping a copy of these receipts when they are brought to you to sign as mishaps do happen and it’s a good idea to keep track of any charges made to your room. Often you can check charges made to your account daily if you have an interactive TV in your stateroom which most cruise ships do. If you spot any unidentifiable charges on your account, then be sure to check them with guest services sooner rather than later to avoid the queues are your cruise comes to an end.
- You have to purchase a drinks package on the first day of your cruise if you decide that you would like one.
- You have to purchase the package for the duration of your cruise – you’re unable to pick and choose days to use it.
